Football Follies at THE PLACE for teens (video)

We have been having a blast with our newest series at THE PLACE for teens on Wednesday nights! (Jr. High from 630p – 800p and Sr. High from 700p – 8:45p) The series is called “The Gridiron” and we have been talking about football and relating it back to our walk with God. Each week is something different:

Week One: The Lockerroom ~ We talked about different things that we can find in the lockerroom and how they link back to life. (ex. Play book = Bible, Cleats = maneuvering around obstacles, etc.)

Week Two: The Coaches Corner ~ We opened up a discourse with Questions and Answers. The kids could ask ANYTHING (and they did) and then I was able to ask them some questions too.

Week Three: Huddle UP ~ This was last night and all of the teens were able to break up in groups and discuss with their group and some leaders what it means to walk with Christ in their school and among their friends. Great conversations took place! It was a blast!

Please continue to pray for these teens as they strive to live out their faith and impact the world in a very practical way.

Last night, we watched a video that CRACKED me up! Check it out ~

Much Love,
GP

Acquire the Fire Tickets Going Fast!

Alright folks, here’s the skinny. We are going to Acquire the Fire this year and you are invited… but you have to act fast. Here are all the details that you need to know.

GP

What is Acquire the Fire? Well, it’s an amazing two day event filled with music, drama, speakers and SO MUCH MORE! You can examine it more at the website.

When is the Event? The event is from Friday, December 3 – Saturday, December 4. We will be leaving Wickenburg around 4pm on Friday and returning the next night around 11pm.

Where is it held at? Acquire the Fire is held at the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum.

Where are we sitting? Well, we have seats in the front two sections ON THE FLOOR! That’s right… sections A and B. Check them out here.

Where are we sleeping? Well, we have a wonderful spot that is close to the Coliseum that we’ll be staying!

How much does it cost? The total cost for the weekend is $75. This will cover transportation, food, lodging and the tickets.

How do I sign up? In order to have a ticket held, all you need to do is turn in a $25 deposit. This deposit will hold your ticket and put you on the list!

I do have to warn you not to drag your feet because tickets are going REALLY fast! I’ve already sold over 80% of the original 50 and am offering them on a first come, first serve basis. If we sell out, I may order more tickets, but these won’t be for the same ‘front row’ sections that we are currently in.

So, if you want your eyebrows burned off by pyrotechnics and your ears ringing for a week from the intense speakers ~ Sign up today!

Jese Sanchez ~ A Sophmore's Journey from Drugs to Jesus

Jese Sanchez

Jese Sanchez

THE PLACE for teens had a phenomenal service last night! One of our very own students, a sophmore named Jese, shared about his journey from drugs and despair to Jesus. He told his story, which started at a very young age of addiction and led to him committing his life to Jesus and even doing missionary work in Slidell, Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.

His story is inspiring and examines the road that many teens are going down today. Jese gives a strong exhortation that the goal of Christian teens needs to be reaching out to those who are on the fringes. Take a few minutes and listen to his message at www.theplaceaz.com. You won’t regret it!
