Maybe it has been a tough week for you. I understand, we all have them. And sometimes when we go through a rough patch we want to lock the door, close the blinds and get lost in some movies. Well, I thought it was time to let these movies that we watch when we are trying to escape the world, speak back to us and inspire us to stand, pick our heads, and march straight into that world of ours.
Take 2 minutes to be inspired. (p.s. See how many movies you recognize and put the number in the comments. Let’s see who can recognize the most.)
Well, there you go. Get out there and live that life that you were created to! Because you ARE CREATED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON THIS EARTH! Don’t ever forget it!
It is so simple… It doesn’t take a lot of time… You don’t have to know any special words… Simply let your mouth be a vessel of kindness and goodness today. Choose to speak words that will encourage those around you. It’s amazing what a little positivity can do in your world today.
Today, choose to speak LIFE… not only over yourself, but all those in your sphere of influence. Your tongue has the power to bring the dead bones of someone’s day to life again!
Shine like a star today!
You have to watch this video about Gilly and Katie Pollard and their wonderful family. They are a beacon of faith and hope in the midst of overwhelming difficulty. Hear their story and be encouraged.
Today has been an absolutely AMAZING day! In the midst of darkness, the light is so much brighter! Let me explain…
We’re church planters… that’s what we do. It’s our job… our profession… our calling… and our passion. Church planting isn’t the most flashy job around. You have planted a seed and you’re helping it grow. You are reaching people with the Gospel and trying to help them grow… but there’s no huge budget… no staff… and nowhere to turn in times of trouble. There are people that stand with us and help us, but we all have been working hard for the past six months pouring out every ounce of love to the community of Wickenburg. There have been some highs and some lows along the way. We’ve shouted praises and cried tears. We’ve gained friends and lost friends. We’ve seen miracles and waded through discouragement. But this week was lower than any other week we’ve had.
We are preparing for a church wide fast over the month of October and have felt the increased heaviness since the decision had been made. The calendar is set… the banner is ordered… and our hearts are ready for what the future holds. But still, discouragement has a way of rearing its ugly little head. We’ve had ups and downs over the week, with more downs that ups. Then, we had church today…
It’s always nice to see the faces at church. People that we have met and grown to have a deep love for over the past six months. The sermon went well and we shared in the wonderful gift of communion with each other. But still… there was just this heaviness on my heart. Leaders began coming to me and sharing that there was a heaviness in their hearts. So, we decided to call a special meeting of prayer. We invited the church and at 1p today, we came together in my living room to pray.
A small group of us came together and shared scriptures and prayed for one another… for the church… for the future and the direction of the congregation. My spirit jumped for joy at the ministry that was taking place between each of us. I was watching each person’s gifts being used as we prayed and talked and cried together. It was wonderful!
I left that time so encouraged to do the work that God has for us in Wickenburg and throughout the world. I know that we are at the CUSP of something great… and I can’t wait to witness the miracles that are about to take place. I am honored to have been called by God for this task!
I was reading this quote today that really spoke to me. It said…
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them.” ~ G.B. Shaw, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, 1893
There are things to be done. Some days are good and some are bad… but there is still something that needs to be done. God is calling me… you… us to make that change. We need to be able to work through discouragement and hard times… but that can only be done when we lean on prayer and the joy that can only be found in fellowship.
If you’re having a hard time, lean on God… friends… your church. Lean on people that love you and watch the discouragement fade away and be replaced with a love and joy that can only come from God Himself! Keep your head up! The view is so much better!
There is an AMAZING organization that is working hard to raise the awareness of suicide prevention. Many haven’t heard the story, but it is one that needs to be heard. The organization is called TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms). Being that this week is Suicide Prevention Week, I thought it was a good organization to highlight.
Check out this video of Renee Yohe. This difference was made because a Christian decided that he wanted to do more than just TALK about his faith. He reached out to Renee with the love and hope that can only come from Jesus.

More than anything, I just want to encourage you to reach out with love. There are so many out there who are hurting and they don’t see any hope at all. Sometimes, that hope needs to be expressed through an individual ~ and that individual could be you.
Keep making a difference! You are designed to do something great… start today!
